Key Country Facts

Croatia is geographically very unusual which makes performing certain logistics operations very difficult. Distance between two most remote points is over 1500 km. Ours is one of the most indented shorelines in the world, with over 718 islands, 47 of them inhabited.

Considering the small population (4,4 million people) and great distances, efficient distribution in our business can be quite a challenge. To make matters even more complex, our premium products are intended for specific target groups whose geographical location is not definite and stable. Therefore, we must ensure constant availability of our products in adequate quantities, in all parts of our country, and in different formats for different retail outlets. In order to make that possible, we offer a wide range of possibilities when it comes to supply methods, so our customers can choose what suits them best. This includes Pre-packed Cross Docking method, in which Salvia pre packs supplies for individual stores, which allows for a delivery of quantities much smaller than conventional transport packaging. This way of operating helped us successfully launch many products onto the market and it also makes us a unique distributor in the food segment. Through daily analyses, and status and trend monitoring we enable our principals to always be one step ahead of their competition.

Salvia Retail Team

Our sales team makes sure that our products are always available in stores throughout Croatia and Slovenia.

Aside from the Sales Director and the Retail Channel Sales Manager, our key-account sales assistants are responsible for daily communication with important customers, while there are 20 sales representatives and 4 sales promoters to help with the agreement implementation on the field. Our sales representatives are in charge of conducting sales with independent retail stores, and it is with the help of their knowledge and experience that we accomplish our business goals. Their daily work and dedication result in constant development and growth of distribution of products from out portfolio.

Our services

We maintain partnerships with all the leading retail chains, which then makes it easier for us to find the most efficient and the quickest path to end-users for our principals. We plan and implement productive promotions and provide cost-competitive positioning of each product from our range. We offer support to our customers by participating in the development of planograms and inventory optimization, we maintain the tidiness of shelves and take care of the arranged activities at the points of sale.

Through a detailed analysis of brands we have developed the best business practice for each individual principal. Our activities include: managing key customers, field sales, merchandising, storage (both with ambient air and refrigerated cooling systems), direct delivery to stores, product labeling and regulation coordination, demand planning and predicting, trade and consumer marketing, import, promotional activities in stores as well as pre-packing products for capillary distribution through cross-dock.

Salvia is partners with big retail chains operating on Croatian and Slovenian market. Some of our more prominent customers are Konzum, Mercator, Spar, Plodine, Kaufland, Metro, Billa, Tommy, KTC, but also petrol station chains, such as Ina, Tifon, Crodux and Petrol. Of no less importance is our successful collaboration with many smaller, local and regional retail chains and independent stores.
